3. Buy used textbooks
A great way to save money while in college is to try to always buy used textbooks for your classes. It’s not necessary to have brand new books, and often used ones are half or more off. Plus, some may even have notes or highlighting from previous students that can help you in your studies! Then, at the end of the semester you can sell them back to the bookstore and get some cash.
4. Don’t buy a car
Cars can be very expensive to maintain with the high costs of gas, insurance and parking. Instead, learn how to use buses or other mass transit or make friends with someone who has a car. You can also save up your money during this time and have a good amount for a car down payment when you graduate.
